Blockchain-based Enjin Coin (ENJ) has become the first gaming cryptocurrency to be legally authorized for trade by the Japanese Virtual Currency Exchange Association, according to a recent announcement.

Within hours of the announcement the coin saw a 71% increase to the coin's dollar value with the price rising from $0.236340 to a 3-year high of $0.406356, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Starting on January 26, Enjin Coin will become the first gaming token listed on Coincheck, and one of 15 digital currencies in total, including the likes of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and more. ENJ will be purchasable with JPY, and tradeable against BTC.
