According to The Block, the development team behind the decentralized digital payment protocol Celo is preparing to launch a stablecoin pegged to Euro.

Marek Olszewski, a partner of cLabs, one of the development companies behind Celo, said that the on-chain governance protocol of euro-backed stablecoin is currently being tested, and the token is expected to be launched in March.

Celo launched a US dollar-pegged stablecoin-Celo Dollar(cUSD)-that can be used to make payments via mobile devices In June 2020.
