Michael Burry, the hedge fund manager and the prototype of the movie "Big Short", tweeted that the government may "squash" Bitcoin and gold.

He wrote: "Prepare for #inflation. Re-opening & stimulus on the way. Pre-COVID it took $3 debt to create $1 GDP, and it is worse now. In an inflationary crisis, governments will move to squash competitors in the currency arena. BTC and gold."

Burry deleted the tweet shortly thereafter, an account "Michael Burry Archive" records his tweets by screenshots.

Burry became famous in the 2008 housing mortgage crisis by shorting the US real estate market.
