The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced charges against California resident James Roland Jones. This is the first time the commission has taken enforcement actions against securities fraud on the dark web. It is reported that Jones obtained Bitcoin through the sale of important non-public information (MNPI) of securities transactions through the dark web internal trading forum, worth a total of 27,000 US dollars.
