Canada is one step ahead of the United States in the field of Ethereum ETFs.
Purpose Investments Inc., an asset management company announced on Friday that the Canadian securities regulator has approved the launch of Purpose Ether ETF, which is the world's first ETF directly hosting Ethereum.
The ETF provides investors with exposure to the second-largest cryptocurrency through direct investment in physical Ethereum.
Ether Capital served as the special advisor, and Gemini Trust served as the custodian. The United States has not approved any Bitcoin ETFs, while Purpose Investments launched the world's first Bitcoin ETF in February.
