Aleo, a programmable data privacy startup has completed a $28 million Series A round of financing led by Andreesen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Placeholder, Galaxy Digital, Variant Fund, Coinbase Ventures, and more.

Aleo is committed to developing a web platform using Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP), a technology that allows two parties on the Internet to mutually verify information without sharing private data.

The team is developing its full-stack framework and preparing for the mainnet launch. The new funds will go forward to community development, developer grant programs and expanding the development team.
