Ronit Ghose, head of global banking at Citibank, told Decrypt that as the crypto space develops as a whole, Bitcoin's dominance may decline in the next ten years.

Ghose explained the reason from two perspectives. Firstly, Bitcoin is not widely used for daily payments. Although it has found some use in emerging countries that lack payment infrastructure, it is usually not used to buy daily necessities.

On the other hand, if the value of Bitcoin continues to rise, people may be reluctant to spend the tokens they hold.

Ghose believes that there are two options that may undermine Bitcoin's market share in the digital payment field. The first is tokens such as Ethereum and Polkadot, which provide faster payments through smart contracts, and the second one is the government's Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
