According to Bloomberg, "The Key 101.38", a rare and flawless pear-shaped diamond of 101.38 carats was sold at Sotheby’s for 95.1 million Hong Kong dollars ($12.3 million) in cryptocurrency, making it the most expensive jewelry sold through crypto payment.

Sotheby's said in a statement that this gem from Diacore is the second-largest pear-shaped diamond ever sold publicly, and the buyer is an undisclosed private collector.

It is not clear which cryptocurrency was used in this purchase. Before the auction, Sotheby's stated it supports Bitcoin or Ethereum payments.
