The stablecoin issuer Tether issued a statement on Bloomberg's report that the Ministry of Justice is investigating it. The company claims that Bloomberg's article is based on unnamed sources and allegations that have existed for several years. 

Tether said the article is "repackaging" outdated claims to get newsworthy stories that will generate clicks. Tether also reiterated its commitment to cooperating with the U.S. government and governments of other countries in the world.
