According to a regulatory filing, BlockFi applied to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) based on Bitcoin Futures on Friday. 

The fund, named BlockFi Bitcoin Strategy ETF, will only invest in futures contracts traded on CME and will be registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, which is consistent with the requirements of the Bitcoin futures ETF that may be approved by the chairman of the SEC, Gary Gensler.
