Payment giant Visa today launched an NFT support program with former MLB player and crypto artist Micah Johnson, aiming to help creators understand NFT technology and use public blockchains to produce and sell digital arts.

Micah Johnson joined the digital art market in 2020 and create an astronaut animated character Aku. Aku sold more than $2 million in NFT tokens within 24 hours after dropping on Nifty Gateway in February 2021.

Visa will select a small group of creators through the application process and provide consulting services. The program will also seek to build meaningful relationships between creators and Visa’s payment partner network to help creators reach new audiences and grow their businesses.
