In a panel discussion at the Bloomberg Financial Innovation Summit on Friday, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the FTX CEO and founder said that the crypto segment NFT has shown explosive growth in the past year, and the combination of NFT and games also becoming more and more popular, he believes that gaming NFTs may become a driving force to push crypto to mainstream audiences, as first reported by Blockworks.

He said: "I don’t want to confidently say that will happen because I think (mainstream adoption) could be through payment rails instead...There are a few things that it could be. But I would put NFTs in that top category probability wise, along with a couple of other things in terms of what brings a non-crypto native audience to crypto for something other than financial investing.”

SBF considers NFTs integrating with video games, venues, events, or ticketing as products very meaningful, he said: "So when you hear about top-tier gaming publishers looking to introduce crypto into their system, I'm pretty bullish on that."
