Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced on Monday that it has upgraded its Coinbase wallet with a new standalone browser extension.

Users can download the tool for free on Chrome, and then browse dapps, access thousands of cryptocurrencies, trade on decentralized exchanges (DEX), earn interest and collect NFTs.

New users can also choose to import their Ethereum-based wallets, such as MetaMask and Trust Wallet.

Coinbase first introduced a downloadable browser extension for its wallet in May, which required users to confirm transactions through their wallet mobile app.

The new extension eliminates the need to confirm the transaction on the smartphone. Sid Coelho-Prabhu, Coinbase Group Product Manager, said: "We’ll continue working to empower everyone to use dapps and web3 by building the easiest-to-use and most accessible self-custody wallet in the ecosystem".
