According to an S1 registration statement from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), BlockFi NB LLC, a joint venture between crypto lender BlockFi and investment management company Neuberger Berman, filed for a Bitcoin Exchange Traded Fund (ETF).
The fund, which is named BlockFi NB Bitcoin ETF, will provide direct exposure to Bitcoin. The shares issued by the trust will be traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
This application is different from the Bitcoin futures ETF filed by BlockFi last month, which only invests in futures contracts traded on CME.
