During the Breakpoint conference in Lisbon, Portugal, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian announced that his VC, Seven Seven Six, and Solana Ventures have launched a $100 million Web3 growth fund.

The two parties believe that despite the efforts to "decentralize" social media since at least 2017, none of the blockchain-based social projects has been mainstreamed, so the new fund will give priority to technologies or applications that can eliminate intermediaries.

Last Friday, Solana Ventures established a $100 million fund with Lightspeed Venture Partners and FTX  to invest in startups focusing on building blockchain game studios.
