Cryptocurrency Appeals to the Younger Crowd Within the Workforce

According to a story published by CNBC, for a variety of reasons, American companies are now utilizing cryptocurrencies in order to serve as a marketing technique, which is working well in some cases.  One key reason that American companies are using this marketing strategy is because they are finding it increasingly challenging to fill available roles in work places.  Some common reasons for this occurrence are because of the pandemic, stock market, or unfitting positions that would be unlikely to attract individuals to the workforce.

 In terms of adding cryptocurrencies as forms of bonuses to salaried positions, this would mean that certain American firms would decide to pay employees in the form of bitcoin.  The strategy of offering cryptocurrency to employees will likely appeal to the younger crowd, given that younger generations tend to invest in cryptocurrenices more so than typical stock markets. 

 “It was a pretty enticing part of the deal coming to work for SharpRank,” stated Stephen Gerrits, a college student who recently started working for a sports start-up company. “I think crypto is a very exciting thing that is going on right now and it is very fun to be a part of,” he reported to CNBC. 

CEO of SharpRank, Chris Adams, also agreed that cryptocurrency will be an important aspect of drawing younger individuals to the workforce.  A recent survey made by Bankrate revealed that millennials and Gen Z’s are the most commonly held enthusiasts of cryptocurrency, believing that this type of investment will enable them to earn a great amount of money.
