The Chinese government has banned two companies from exporting medical equipment after finding their products have quality problems. The Tus Data Asset, a Chinese blockchain and data asset operation company, was one of the two. According to a report on Cointelegraph, the company is controlled by state capital.

China’s Ministry of Commerce announced on Monday that the Tus Data Asset and Aibaoda Technology would not be allowed to trade COVID-19 protective equipment overseas after some quality issue surfaced. In the announcement, the Ministry of Commerce states that products of these companies have been returned by foreign buyers, which disturbs the order of medical exports, and severely impairs China’s national image. As introduced by the South China Morning Post, neither of the two companies manufactured on medical equipment until lately.

A report on the Peterson Institute for International Economics in March showed that China is in charge of 43% of world imports of personal protective equipment, such as masks, goggles, gloves, and more. It is said that China will implement stricter customs check before exportation.
