According to Cointelegraph, California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill allowing the issuance of operational licenses for crypto companies on Friday, claiming that it doesn’t align with organizational efforts to create a transparent regulatory environment and that it would require drawing tens of millions of dollars in loans from the state’s general fund.

Instead, Newsom said, he prefers a more flexible approach that would evolve over time.

Newsom also said that he is waiting for federal regulations for digital assets to be more defined, suggesting that developing crypto licensing initiatives in the future is a possibility.
