Investment management firm Hamilton Lane announced on Wednesday that it is planning to tokenize three of its funds in a partnership with digital assets securities firm Securitize. 

The funds, which will be tokenized by Securitize’s digital transfer agency, provide exposure to direct equities, private credit, and secondary transactions. The firm expects the tokenized funds to be available by the fourth quarter.

The purpose of tokenization, according to the company, is to make private market investment, which is often only accessible to institutions or high-net worth individuals, available to a broader range of investors.
