The Ministry of Science and Technology recently approved the development of the National Blockchain Technology Innovation Center, which will work with use cases to integrate blockchain into the country’s digital economy.

The move reflects the government’s optimism about blockchain despite having banned cryptocurrency within the country.

As of July, China has more than 1,800 blockchain companies, according to reports by the SCMP.
