The Arbitrum blockchain suffered a software bug on Wedneday that caused the network to stop processing transactions for hours, according to reports by CoinDesk.

The bug occurred in Arbitrum's sequencer, "responsible for taking user transactions, creating a batch of the transaction, and posting it on-chain," Arbitrum's developer said on Twitter.

Due to the large number of transactions that had not been posted, the bug caused network stress for a short while. However, Arbitrum's community lead soon announced on Discord that they had fixed the issue and that everything was back to normal.
