BitFlyer, a Tokyo-based crypto exchange, is sending free pizzas to shelters in commemoration of the Bitcoin Pizza Day on May 22.

“BitFlyer USA is donating pizzas to local organizations supporting homeless families,” tweeted bitFlyer USA, who placed orders with local San Francisco Bay Area pizza stores, not by BTC.

The BTC Pizza Day originated from the first commercial transaction in bitcoin when developer Laszlo Hanyecz ordered two pizzas with 10,000 BTC nearly ten years ago. At that time, the amount of BTC was worthy of about $41, and now they value almost $92 million.
