According to FinanceFeeds, South Korean financial regulatory-approved digital asset custodian BDACS announced on August 5, 2025, the addition of XRP institutional custody services. This service, based on cooperation with Ripple's custody technology, supports secure storage of XRP and stablecoin RLUSD, and has been integrated with South Korea's mainstream exchanges such as Upbit and Bithumb.

CoinGecko data shows that XRP accounts for 19% of the daily trading volume on South Korea's largest exchange Upbit, with a holding of 1.38 million coins (16% market share) on the Bithumb platform, making it the second-largest held cryptocurrency in South Korea.

BDACS stated that this move aims to meet the demand of institutional investors for compliant infrastructure, in line with the policy direction of the Financial Services Commission of South Korea to promote institutional market entry.
