According to Jinshi data, CICC has found that tariffs have actually led to a partial rebound in US inflation, but the seasonal adjustment method has underestimated inflation by nearly 20bp in the past 2 months, with CPI readings not reflecting the true situation of the inflation rebound. It is predicted that the CPI may confirm an upward turning point in the next 1-2 months, possibly as early as August 12. The upward cycle of CPI on a year-on-year basis may last for about a year, and the inflation increase can be estimated using input-output tables. The US inflation entering an upward cycle may disrupt the pace of Fed rate cuts, bringing new variables to global assets.
