According to reports from Cryptonews, Andriy Pyshnyy, the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), stated that he supports the legalization of cryptocurrency but does not support its use as a payment method. He emphasized that the legalization of cryptocurrency should not undermine the effectiveness of the central bank's monetary policy tools. Pyshnyy also revealed that the NBU is testing models for Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and preparing for pilot projects. With Ukraine's European integration process in mind, the NBU is particularly focused on the development of the digital euro project and has already collaborated with the European Central Bank, the German Federal Bank, the National Bank of Belgium, the Bank of France, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
