According to Cointelegraph, security company Koi Security revealed that the cybercrime group GreedyBear has stolen over $1 million in cryptocurrency through hundreds of fake wallet extensions, malware, and scam websites. Koi Security found that the group released over 150 malicious extensions in the Firefox browser app store, disguised as popular cryptocurrency wallets like MetaMask, TronLink, Exodus, and Rabby Wallet. The attackers used Extension Hollowing technique to first create legitimate extensions that pass market review, and then transform them into malicious programs.
