According to Tencent News, Fosun has confirmed its application for a stablecoin license in Hong Kong and has assembled a complete team for the application. On August 6, Fosun founder Guo Guangchang personally led the core team of Fosun's stablecoin division and other senior executives to meet with the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, and the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong SAR, Paul Chan, in a single day.

Through its subsidiary Fosun Wealth, Fosun has already made inroads in the digital asset field via the Starpath Technology platform, including participating in the distribution of tokenized currency fund products launched by Huaxia Fund and developing a platform for tokenizing real-world assets (RWA).

According to the timetable of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, institutions intending to apply can establish contact with regulatory authorities after August 1 and must formally submit license application materials by September 30. As of the time of publication, Fosun has not provided any comments on this matter.
