According to official sources, the Ethereum Foundation has announced the optimization of the Ecosystem Support Program (ESP) focus areas and implementation path. As part of this transition, public funding applications have been temporarily suspended. This adjustment will allow the foundation time to redesign funding models, shift focus to strategic planning, and support priority initiatives of other teams within the Ethereum Foundation. The foundation mentioned that despite continuous process optimization over the past three years to improve efficiency, the influx of applications for the resource-limited and wide-ranging public funding program has consumed most of their time and energy, making it difficult to explore new strategic opportunities. The foundation will continue to fund Ethereum public goods and accept applications, but in a new way, with specific details to be outlined in future announcements. The optimized focus areas and implementation path of ESP will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2025.
