In a recent announcement, the Ethereum Foundation revealed that the Holešky testnet will soon cease operations, with the majority of remaining validator nodes set to shut down within two weeks after the Fusaka upgrade. Following this, Holešky will no longer be supported by client, testing, or infrastructure teams. Launched in 2023, Holešky is Ethereum's largest public testnet designed for large-scale testing of staking infrastructure and validator operations, allowing thousands of validators to test protocol upgrades, including the Dencun network upgrade and the recent Pectra network upgrade. After its closure, the Ethereum testnet ecosystem will include Sepolia for application and tool development, Hoodi for validator and staking provider testing, and Ephemery for lightweight validator lifecycle testing, resetting every 28 days.
