According to reports from CryptoinAmerica, the US Congress has returned to work after the recess, with legislation on crypto market structure set to be a focal point. The Senate Banking Committee is expected to mark up a discussion draft on market structure by the end of September, while the Senate Agriculture Committee will soon release a draft covering CFTC regulation.
Senator Cynthia Lummis stated that the market structure bill is expected to be signed into law by President Trump before Christmas this year. Additionally, the Small Business Administration has ordered banking institutions to restore services to customers who were illegally de-banked, and to correct related policies by December 5th. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has also publicly acknowledged instances of power abuse against certain companies during the Biden administration.
