It is reported that stealing electricity in Hong Kong is considered a serious crime. According to the Theft Ordinance, anyone who dishonestly uses electricity without proper authorization, causes electricity wastage, or transfers electricity elsewhere dishonestly, can face up to 5 years in prison.
