The index fell back in the morning, with the Hang Seng Technology Index narrowing its gains to 1%. By midday closing, the Hang Seng Index rose by 0.8% to 25839.36 points, while the Technology Index rose by 1.03% to 581308 points, with a total market turnover of 1596.77 billion Hong Kong dollars.
