According to reports, the website of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that one-third of senior positions at this agency responsible for producing key US employment and inflation data are currently vacant. While the position of director has been temporarily filled, a series of other leadership positions responsible for overseeing employment statistics and regional field operations remain unfilled.

According to sources, many employees who have worked at the agency for decades have accepted the Trump administration's offer of delayed resignation in recent months. The firing of the agency's director by US President Trump last month has posed challenges for this agency, which has around 2000 professional employees.

Due to a federal hiring freeze that will continue until October 15, it is currently unclear whether the lower-level positions responsible for data collection and analysis will be filled quickly.
