Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan stated that Bitcoin is expected to achieve sustained and steady returns in the next decade, but is unlikely to see extreme annual increases. He noted that Bitcoin may enter a phase of 'long-term slow growth' with relatively lower volatility, but will still experience periodic pullbacks. Hougan maintains his bullish outlook on Bitcoin for 2026, believing there is still room for price growth next year. Recent Bitcoin retracements have been less severe compared to historical cycles, mainly due to institutional funds slowly entering the market, providing support for price declines. Sebastian Beau, Chief Investment Officer at ReserveOne, mentioned that there is still debate on whether the four-year Bitcoin cycle has ended. While the current price has dropped rapidly by about 30% from its peak, it has not yet experienced the deep corrections of over 60% seen in previous cycles. Some market participants remain cautious, with trader Peter Brandt predicting Bitcoin could drop to $60,000 in the third quarter of 2026. Regarding macro and policy factors, Hougan believes that the Trump administration's marginal impact on Bitcoin prices is limited, and regulatory clarity on its 'commodity-like' nature has reduced the potential for policy changes to be a major driver of future price increases.
