According to reports, the main contract of US WTI crude oil futures rose by 12.67% to $91.27 per barrel in a single day, marking a 35.6% increase compared to before the escalation of the US-Iran conflict on February 28, the highest weekly gain for this futures product since its introduction in 1983; the main contract of UK Brent crude oil futures rose by 9.26% to $93.32 per barrel in a single day, with a weekly increase of 27.5%, the highest weekly gain since 1990. Looking back, after the Russia-Ukraine conflict erupted at the end of February 2022, both Brent and WTI saw approximately 25% weekly gains in early March; during the Gulf War in August 1990, Brent spot prices saw a maximum weekly increase of 26%.
