NXT and Algorand are clashing over which group developed the first proof-of-stake blockchain.

Algorand claims that it is the first PoS blockchain, but on June 3 NXT lead developer Lior Yaffe sent out a tweet disputing the claim. Yaffe wrote that NXT was the first to implement a PoS solution and chastised news outlets for publishing the information without fact-checking.

Yaffe also told Cointelegraph that he did not see how it could be a good faith mistake and that he had seen similar behavior in the blockchain industry before.
