Ethereum's layer 2 solutions will need to be much faster if they are ever to be useful Skale CTO, Konstantin Kladko, told Cointelegraph in an interview.

Skale is blockchain platform based on Ethereum. Kladko roughly estimates that making a trade using Ethereum's layer-two solutions, like zk-rollup or optimistic rollup, would take an hour.

Optimistic rollups assumes all transactions are valid and allows users to submit complaints which go to the rollup operator, which Kladko believes is too centralized to be utilized within the defi community because it would allow this operator to use his knowledge to gain an edge when trading.
