Ethereum fees have been higher than Bitcoin fees for two months straight, data from Messari shows.

The streak marks the longest period ever that the Ethereum blockchain has cost more than Bitcoin. The new record comes following the wave of DeFi enthusiasm which has left the network more congested than ever before and led members of the community to wonder how to tackle the chain's scaling obstacles.

On Wednesday, October 7 financial services company Atomic Finance announced that the platform will be moving away from building on Ethereum and focusing on Bitcoin, a trend which may become more common as community members grow tired of waiting for scaling solutions on Ethereum.
