​Inveniam Acquires Factom, Becoming The 8th Largest Blockchain Patent Holder In The United States

Fintech company Inveniam Capital Partners, Inc. announced today that it has acquired Austin-based blockchain innovation company Factom. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Through this acquisition, Inveniam has obtained nearly 40 blockchain patents, bringing it the 8th largest blockchain patent holder in the United States, second only to Intel, ahead of Microsoft and Fidelity Investments, Capital One, and Bank of America. 

As part of the agreement, Factom founder Paul Snow has joined Inveniam as the chief blockchain scientist. Jay Smith, chief operating officer of Factom, also joined to serve as an outstanding engineer.
