According to The Block, an anti-central bank digital currency (CBDC) clause has been included in a must-pass defense appropriations legislation in the US House of Representatives. The clause has been added to the latest version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in the House. The newly established section in the bill is named the 'Anti-CBDC Surveillance Act,' and its content aligns with a bill previously introduced by House Majority Whip Tom Emmer. Earlier this summer, the House passed Emmer's bill with 219 votes to 210, aiming to prohibit the Federal Reserve from directly issuing central bank digital currencies to individuals.
