According to reports, SlowMist Cosmos has updated the Venus security incident on the X platform as follows: In this whale theft incident, both the Venus protocol and front end seem to be fine. Currently, analysis from SlowMist's partners suggests that the whale was attacked at a specific point. Although the whale used a hardware wallet, the related wallet extension on the computer (used in conjunction with the hardware wallet) was replaced. When users attempted normal redeemUnderlying operations, they were replaced with updateDelegate operations, ultimately resulting in the theft of assets in their Venus account.

The hacker who targeted this whale's funds used Gas from privacy token Monero (XMR) exchanges. Other related funds traced back to eXch, a previously sanctioned dark web trading platform that North Korean hackers have favored in the past.
