Arkham announced on social media that they have identified 50 billion USD worth of Bitcoin that the German government failed to seize. Previously, German authorities confiscated 49,858 BTC from the operators of the movie piracy website Movie2K in early 2024, selling them in July 2024 at an average price of 57,900 USD, making a profit of 28.9 billion USD. However, Arkham's investigation uncovered another Bitcoin cluster related to Movie2K's early activities, totaling around 45,000 BTC (worth 49.9 billion USD), which have not been moved since 2019 and are stored in over 100 Bitcoin wallets. It is likely that these Bitcoins are still controlled by the Movie2K operators, almost matching the seized Bitcoin in quantity. The German government's statement did not mention this additional batch of Bitcoins, nor did they include them in the initial emergency sale plan.
