According to The Block, twelve Democratic senators in the US Senate issued a statement on Friday urging their Republican colleagues to allow for bipartisan drafting of the cryptocurrency market structure legislation currently advancing in Congress.

The statement was signed by a group of Democratic lawmakers involved in cryptocurrency affairs, including Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, Cory Booker of New Jersey, Ruben Gallego of Arizona, Mark Warner of Virginia, among others.

Prior to this, the group had released a seven-pillar framework for US cryptocurrency market regulation, laying the groundwork for negotiations. Meanwhile, Republicans are pushing for their drafted US Digital Asset Market Clarity Act to be considered in the Senate, which has already passed the House.
