Canada's central bank is beginning to develop a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), according to a recent job listing posted to the Bank of Canada's website.

The Bank is looking to hire a CBDC project manager and wrote that the position length is 3 years with possible extension.

"We aim to design a CBDC with cash-like properties in digital form," the posting stated.

The listing outlined that a Canadian CBDC should be private, but still compliant with anti-criminal efforts. It stated that a Canadian CBDC would not aim for the same anonymity as cash.
