According to sources, the Hong Kong 'Stablecoin Regulations' will take effect on August 1, 2025, initiating the stablecoin license application process. The license for stablecoin issuers will not be obtained through self-downloading forms and submitting written applications, but will be arranged on an invitation basis. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority, responsible for issuing licenses, will communicate in advance with potential stablecoin license applicants to assess their basic qualifications. Only upon obtaining basic approval during the pre-communication will the Monetary Authority issue the application form. (Caixin)
