Shibarium, a Layer2 network connecting to Ethereum, was previously attacked via flash loan on its Shibarium cross-chain bridge, resulting in approximately $2.4 million worth of ETH and SHIB being stolen. Shibarium has now issued a security incident update, which includes the following measures: 1. Specific bridge operations have been restricted to prevent unauthorized transactions; 2. Upgrades and restrictions on potentially abused paths (deposits/withdrawals/claims/rewards) have been implemented, along with targeted defense controls to prevent abuse of delegated staking; 3. Recovery and protection of at-risk BONE held at the staking manager level, with intervention and effective restrictions on short-term BONE staking by attackers through protocol mechanisms; 4. Rotation of validator signers, transferring contract control to multi-party hardware custody, and continued extensive migration from legacy keys; 5. Real-time monitoring of attacker traffic, automatic alerts to partners and exchanges, and reporting; 6. Engagement of independent security researchers, incident response companies, and relevant departments.
