According to reports, British police have arrested a 19-year-old suspect, Thalha Jubair, accused of being a member of the hacker group Scattered Spider. The organization is alleged to have launched cyberattacks on over 100 institutions since May 2022, extorting over $1.15 billion in ransom, with approximately 5 companies paying $89.5 million. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has seized $36 million in digital assets from wallets controlled by them. Investigations revealed that Jubair exposed his whereabouts by using ransom to purchase game gift cards and takeout.
